Sustainabilitree
Melanie was commissioned by a bio-plastics manufacturer to produce an installation to demonstrate the nature of their biodegradable material. Melanie used the bio-plastic derived from corn and potato starch to create a giant tree. As the leaves begin to biodegrade, the leaves will fall off the tree just like a real tree loses its leaves during Autumn. The leaves will biodegrade into the soil below.

The photographs are exhibited inside the Bog Standard Gallery and in toilets around the UK. Melanie’s loves to receive imagery of toilet signs from other parts of the world and these can be submitted by email.
